Bicycling is a relaxing thing in the Rur-Eifel region. The day tour around the Kalltal valley, the Neffelbach route or the RurUfer cycle trail along River Rur are examples for family-friendly routes. But also those who want to make use of more muscles and gears will find fantastic cycling challenges. Mountain stages with firm inclines and racy descends quicken the pulse of passionate bikers. The young River Rur has its source in the moor and heath landscape of the Belgium High Venn. A way of almost 180 km lies in front of it, until it flows as Roer into River Maas in the Dutch city of Roermond. If you feel like accompanying it on this way, you will experience a fascinating change of landscapes. The planning of the stages is easy, as many train stations and bicycle-friendly inns enable individual scheduling.
